Background

In nowadays we suffer in a fast-paced lives, people are accustomed to efficient, goal-oriented action patterns, often ignoring the details of the moment and their own feelings. However, when we slow down and enter a space with a quiet atmosphere, such as a church, can we perceive the world in a different way? This research will combine spatial experience, time perception, and the observation of coexistence with others to explore how people interact internally and externally in such an environment.

Prograss

Upon entering the church, we will experience the space in a form of “immersive observation,” similar to the perceptual experimentation in the Main room St. Paul Church, but in a religious and meditative arena.

Behavioral Observation and Interaction

In churches, people move in different patterns than in other public places; they may be praying, meditating, listening to a sermon, or simply sitting. We will observe and experience the following behaviors:

Slow walking and lingering
Be aware of the presence of others
Time change

Possible psychological and emotional changes

Feelings
Physical and psychological changes
Auditory Response
